Puget Sound Junior Livestock Show and Sale

The mission of the Puget Sound Junior Livestock Show, in harmony with the students and communities, is to empower youth to be positive contributors to society and the livestock and agriculture industries.

To accomplish these goals, the PSJLS will specifically develop:

• Animal husbandry and food quality assurance through raising market animals using ethical, safe and healthy

   methods.

• Animal selection and grading through a student judging contest.

• Financial management and economics through the record book contest and auction.

• Leadership skills through recognition with the Jerry Peth Award and the Howard E. Howell Inspirational Award.

• Cooperation, responsibility and environmental cleanliness among groups through the herdsmanship contest.

• Public relations skills through educational displays and public demonstrations.
